The INN “IL RUSTICHELLO” was established in 1976 when Gino, having spent many years in the hotel industry in Switzerland, realized his dream was to build his very own Chalet and mountain oasis in Lunigiana.

Combining both his passion for beauty and for living materials, Gino has created an exceptionally welcoming space which has become one of the essential elements that allowed “Locanda Il Rustichello” to create this unique space for upper Lunigiana.
The current owner, Walter also fell in love with the Rustichello. He was from Liguria but a lover of the mountains, years ago he found himself in Crocetta for lunch and discovered the “Charbonnade”, a typical dish of medieval origin, which Gino had introduced into his kitchen. Amazed by the authenticity of the flavors, the beauty of the place and the tranquility, Walter often returned to the inn in his spare time. In 2016 he made the decision to acquire the property while renovating it entirely, still respecting and maintaining the original vision Gino had intended.
